Fascinating "series" Jan as much for the quality of the pictures (genuinely interesting POV, interesting older scanned color nega film) as for their historical value - Hanoi in the late 80's. And how it has changed!
I'm pretty much a fan of all this.

nastepna archiwalna fotka dokumentujaca Wietnam sprzed prawie 20 lat... uwage zwraca ta niepowtarzalna atmosfera i charakterystyczna kolorystyka dla filmow z tamtych lat. Ciekawe jak bardzo zmienil sie obraz Hanoi gdyby w tym samym miejscu zrobic zdjecie dzisiaj... Swiat jednak bardzo sie zmienia, mnie najbardziej zaskoczyl w Afryce powszechny widok telefonow komorkowych nawet w wioskach w Zambii wsrod malenkich lepianek, albo Masaje w tradycyjnych strojach i sandalach z opon samochodowych, ale rozmawiajacy przez komorke... Dlatego tez twoje zdjecia z Wietnamu maja dla mnie duza wartosc poznawcza.

Jak ktoś mówi Wietnam to tak właśnie mi się kojarzy, mnóstwo ludzi na rowerach, ciekawy jestem jak wygląda to miejsce w chwili obecnej.
Kolejna bardzo interesująca archiwalna fota.

janek, nie będe ukrywał - jeśli się ona skończy i wrócisz do jakichs smutasowatych "fotek" z kościółkami bez treści to chyba się (albo ciebie0 zastrzelę, stary to są dwa inne światy (dosłownie i w przenośni) - ta wietnamska seria ma styl, szyk, treść, pokazuje świerze spojrzenie na świat, "fikuśnie" podpatruje ciekawe sceny (patrz koza na tym zdjęciu, miodzio);
no po prostu ta seria jest świetna;

Świetne zdjęcie, kadr perfekcyjny, jest nienagannie poukładany choć tyle się na nim dzieje. I jest to co bardzo lubię w fotografii, uchwycona chwila, która już nigdy nie wróci. Jeszcze raz powtórzę - Świetne.

Mam nadzieje, ze ta twoja szuflada jest pojemna i jeszcze wiele takich rarytasow nam pokazesz, bo to zdjecie to kolejny swietny kadr, reporterski ale tez z przymruzeniem oka, z jajem. Jest tu wiele emocji i jakiegos ciepla, moze dzieki tej zlotawej tonacji... Piekne, po prostu piekne.

Replace all of these bikes for honda dreams and you would have a modern day pic. I like the format here and the well chosen POV and of course the goat, so lost in the sea of bikes.

Nice POV creating a great repetition of bikes but all with different approachs. You've captured wuite a nice daily life scene with this bike traffic jam and this lost little animal, like wandering what what she doing there.

This is an excellent capture and reminiscent of a documentary. The contrast between the stationery bikes and the passing cyclists is excellent composition. The goat in the picture is an added, humours detail. The partial sepia/colour combination is something not often seen. Very good work. Your archives are very good.

Possibly... My favorite among your V-nam series.
Not an easy task to decide - they are great and match each other in terms of quality and conveying the message.
And the message is: Victorious, red Vietnam was a lovely place to live back then, after they beat those ugly American imperialists.
Jan, it's an extraordinary valuable gallery from 'the other world'.
Priceless document, yet spiced with the photographic ART with capital letters in it.

Hi Jan, thanks you very much for a serial of picture of Ha Noi in 1988. It remind me about a period of time, touching, at that time using a color film to take around is a luxury for local. Nowadays everything has changed you won't ever see the calf in Hanoi, even the bicycle also not much like this. Hanoi is coverd by building, traffic, noisy and busy, I prefer the pass Hanoi to the now one. Thanks of taking, keeping and showing these photos
