[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Water was not scarce that day as rain came pouring down each time I dared escaping a shelter and hit the road by bike.

While at first you get slightly uncomfortable with the damp clothes sticking to your skin; the sucking sound of water in slippery sneakers and the cold that settles in your bones, it all seems to fade with the passing of each village.
You realise that you are lucky having clothes than can stick to your skin, having sneakers that can fill up with rainwater and housing bones that are rich in calcium to affront the cold.
The children in these villages do not have such luck.

The village of this young boy must be one of the poorest among the poor. While the children are plentiful, food or clothing are not.
The earth beaten tracks among the stilt huts are paved with not much more than poverty. Some of the children lack the energy to play, to simply be a child.

Under these conditions, a mischievous smile of a young boy works like a summer sun on your skin in spring; it fills you up with warmth.
He was happy to play a game of "football" and managed to convince a few of his friends. As the game progressed, the little bodies warmed up and the faces brightened.

A moment of sheer pleasure, but at the end of the day, the 'pink' of his shirt still symbolises the colour of his "vie en rose".

Hi Sabine,

A wonderful portrait of this rather dirty boy.
Yep, you were getting uncomfortable when adjusting to the climate, but when seeing this boy you surely felt more comfortable at once!

Greetings,
Dennis

That pretty photo Sabine. That joint of photos pretty. Congratulations. Takes me with you in your trips Sabine..

Hi Sabine, how are you? Tender notes you share with us this time. A proof that children are always more important that any other material richness... We Europeans have a lot to learn. I love your picture, your little ray of summer sun. Those big black eyes are so expressive. I love every bit of this portrait. To my theme right away! :)

Sabine,
A very lovely and intimate portrait of the boy. Great sharpness and clarity on his face, very lovely smile and the sparkle in his eyes, the shyness, the cute expression on his face, all very well capture, The rose color of his shirt make the image even more atrractive. This is a very lovely and wonderful portriat taken with sensitivity. Reminded me of myself and my friend on our younger days. Thanks
Way

Bonsoir Sabine,
it's a wonderful portrait of this young boy. You captured perfectly in the right moment his smart sight. Then again as usual, your beautiful note embrace, tight and well, the place and your photographic work.
A smile for your days.
Luca

Hoi Sabine,
Groetjes, Henk
